The Improved Data Modem, IDM-302, (MD-1295/A) has been in service since 1992 and is primarily used on US Air Force (USAF) and FMS F-16s. It has four independent channels that can enable up to four radio types (HF, UHF, VHF and SATCOM) to send data over-the-air using the following protocols; AFAPD, TACFIRE, MTS and IDL. Extant has been the production and repair depot for the IDM-302 since 1993.

The IDM-302 has been fielded on the F-16 in the following countries: Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Chile
